There are literally a ton of photo printers on the market today, so with all the models supposedly saying they are the best how does one go about finding the right one for their individual needs?
Well, that’s actually the key to the whole thing is determining your individual needs. you don’t give a hoot about what the guy down the street needs his photo printer to do, you need to determine what your needs are and go shopping just for those.
The easiest way to do that is by drawing out what is called a Franklin T, The name comes for Mr. Benjamin Franklin of our forefathers fame. He devised a very simple method to resolve any problem or question such as what photo printer will best serve my needs down to drawing a simple T on a page.
Here’s how it works. To take out a clean sheet of paper and down the middle you draw a line making the page now in to two equal halves. You then about an inch or so from the top draw another line horizontally all the way across the page.
Next on the right side of the page above the horizontal line you put the word PRO’s and on the left side you put CON’s. You can of course put either one on either side, that’s not the point. The point is you will be putting all the good to one side and bad to another.
Now you list out all the things you don’t like or don’t want in your photo printer on the CON’s side of the page. Next you list all the things you do want you new printer to do on the PRO’s side of the page. Yes I know you’re thinking this is just a little too simple, could you give me something harder please?
Don’t be fooled by how 3rd grade simple this is, it will tell you everything you need to know in the end and here’s how.
Next you simply go shopping for the photo printer in your particular price or budget range that does as many of your PRO’s as possible and you make sure it has as few of your CON’s as possible. What you end up with is the single best value and photo printer that fits your exact needs, not mine and not the guy down the street.
You should using this system end up with a printer that meets as many of your needs as your budget allows and one that has as few drawbacks as is possible and all within your budget.
